Brazil Butt Lift Review – Does it Really Target the Rear? Can it Make Your Booty and Thing of Beauty

So I got some really good results from some of Beach body’s programs like P90x and Insanity. It automatically makes you want to try anything that would come out next right? I just wasn’t sure. Well the Brazil Butt Lift is a 30- 90( depending on your desired results and current fitness level) day home based workout made by Leandro Carvalho ( a native of Brazil and former Ballet dancer/Personal Trainer) and is based on his method he calls Triangle Training- which works the 3 muscles of the buttocks( the Gluteus Maximus, Gluteus Medius and Gluteus Minimus). It promises a nicely shaped and lifted rear. Apparently Leandro Carvalho trains supermodels to get them in runway condition in short periods of time. I saw a clip of the Brazil Butt Lift from Beach body and said I do not want to try something that looked like it was basically for women. I just happened to say this in front of my niece and sister. Boy did I get an earful. All I heard was that there is not one women in the world who doesn’t want to have a better rear( Booty) my sister said! I said ok, then my niece said well you know since I just had a baby and I was thinking of what product I could use to make my hips and thighs slimmer and lift my rear back to they way it was before the baby( Noah). Then they both agree with that girls like guys that have great rears too. Hmmm this made me think a lot, but I was letting my ego get the best of me after doing the intense exercise like P90x and Insanity I just figured it would just be too easy. So I purchased the Brazil Butt Lift for my sister and niece and when it arrived they said the wanted to start it ASAP. In the Package was a nutrition guide, a 6 day Supermodel Slimdown Plan- lose up to 6” or 6lbs in 6 days, Triangle Training workout cards -for workouts on the go, Booty make over guide-shows you what workouts to perform depending on your Booty type({Flat Solution,Pear Shape,The Too Big Solution,The Combination Solution}), a Pencil to perform the pencil test-where you put the pencil under your buttock to determine how much lift is needed, Measurement tracking card- for Male or Female, Measuring Tape- for taking measurements- A booty band- A band to put around your ankles or knees or thighs during exercises to add resistance- 3 workout Dvds( 5 in the Deluxe) The workout are:

Base Package

Booty Basics- Where Leandro shows you his moves and form so you can get the best out of your workouts( 20 min).

Bum Bum( boom boom) is an intense cardio and lower body sculpting program (35 min)

High & Tight- This program works on all the stubborn trouble ones like the hips butt and saddle bags(35 min).

Sculpt- A total body weighted workout with a sexy Brazilian twist to sculpt your whole body esp the butt(50 min).

Cardio Axe-A fat burning dance and booty shaking workout for all over slimming results fast!(30 min).

Tummy Tuck- This is the tummy toner ab routine (20 min).

Deluxe Package( Plus Base workouts and bands)

Rio Extreme – Break through exercise plateaus with this challenging workout. (50 min.)

Abs Rapido – Slim and strengthen your abs with this tummy-tightening workout. (10 min.)

Uppercuts – Incorporate kickboxing moves into your workout for sleek, sexy arms. (13 min.)

Ankle Weights- to build stamina and intensify your workout.

What you will need- some small weights ( 3lb,5lb and 8lb) a heart rate monitor(always for cardio)

ankle weights ( between 3 and 5lbs.) for higher intensity, like in Deluxe Package. Basically you do your booty type workout for 30 days and move to the Combination Solution for another 30 days. You can also switch the weeks around to get a different workout after you have achieved your desired results.

So they wanted to view the dvds. We watched one called Cardio Axe. It actually takes place at Leandro’s studio in New York and on the beaches of Brazil. I can honestly say it looked very fun the music is great and the moves are very very cool. The very next day My sister and niece decided to do Cardio Axe and they asked if I wanted to try it also I said yes after the pleading and begging( 2 times). I felt really weird for about 3 minutes because the moves are totally different than anything I have ever tried.

After that I felt very good and was having a great time it really didn’t feel as if I was working out at all. I was sweating bullets and felt like I was in Brazil with the great music and Brazilian backgrounds and cut scenes. Leandro is a very good motivator and does the moves just like the others. I was reminded the very next day when my butt muscles were very very sore! I called my sister and niece and the were experiencing the same.Wow I guess it really does target the muscles in your rear. I was shocked because that was only one workout ( 1 day) and we felt the soreness. I think I might start adding in some of these workouts for some of the other cardio and ab exercises or maybe I will just purchase another for myself since I actually did have fun. It isn’t a bad idea to switch things up in your fitness schedule, but what is a bad idea is to let your ego get in the way of missing or on something that could be very good to and for you in some way or another. Just like with every fitness regimen, nutrition is very important. Without nutrition your body won’t reflect all of your hard work. Thank you for reading my review. Have a great day.

10 Things You Should Take to the Hospital When Going in For Surgery

With the upcoming date of your surgery looming, you will likely experience some anxiety over having surgery, your impending recovery, and even the post-surgery hospital stay itself. This is perfectly normal.

Of course, you’ll want to do as much as you can to prepare for surgery now so that you can secure a more successful, less stressful recovery. This begins with planning.

While you probably prefer to recover at home in your bed, watching your TV, and eating food from your own frig, sometimes, that is just not possible. Oftentimes, it is in the best interest of your health and recovery to stay in the hospital for a few days or even weeks after surgery.

So, what can you do to prepare for surgery and make your recovery as comfortable as possible?  Here are 10 items that you can, and even should, take to the hospital with you when you go in for your surgery to make your stay a little more comfortable and a bit easier.

1. A pen and notepad so you can take notes.

2. A book or puzzle book such as crosswords or word finds.

3. Your address book or at least a list of phone numbers of friends, etc.

4. A family photo to set on your bedside table.

5. Ear plugs and an eye mask to block out noise and light to help you rest undisturbed.

6. Non-skid slippers or socks to keep your feet warm and prevent falls.

7. Toiletries such as lotion, deodorant, and toothpaste and toothbrush.

8. Essential items that you typically use such as contact lens case, solution, and glasses.

9. Your current medications in their original bottles.

10. Important documents such as medical files, insurance card and id.

If you gather all of these ahead of time and take them with you to the hospital, you can create a more pleasant recovery. Put the items in a bag with shoulder straps so that a family member or friend can easily keep up with these items before you are assigned a room and easily transport them if you are moved from room to room during your recovery.

A brief mention is necessary of items you should not take to the hospital.  Items such as food and drinks, clothing, your own linens, scented candles or air fresheners, credit cards or cash and work related items. Some of these items could easily be lost or stolen while other items may be considered intrusive to other patients. So consider leaving these items off your prepare for surgery “hospital list”, especially when your recovery requires an extended hospital stay.

And remember… planning for a better surgery ~ will always begin with a better plan.

Stretch Marks: Prevention and Treatment During Pregnancy

More than half of all pregnant women will develop stretch marks during their pregnancy. Otherwise known as striae gravidarum, stretch marks look like streaks on the surface of the skin, and may be vary in color depending on your natural skin color. Most lighter skinned women develop pinkish stretch marks, whereas darker skinned women tend to have stretch marks that are lighter than the surrounding skin.

Most women develop stretch marks on their abdomen during pregnancy, however it is also common to get stretch marks on the buttocks, hips, breasts and thighs. In some cases up to 90 percent of women have stretch marks on some part of their body as a result of pregnancy.

What Causes Stretch Marks?

Stretch marks form when your skin is stretched rapidly as happens during pregnancy. Most women develop stretch marks during the later trimesters of pregnancy though some women start to develop them as soon as their bellies start growing.

Stretch marks are actually small tears that form in the tissue that supports the skin and helps it stretch. Stretch marks represent the tearing or separation of collagen from the skin when tearing occurs. Stretch marks are not harmful or painful and usually fade over time.

Who Gets Stretch Marks?

Many women believe that using lotions and creams help prevent stretch marks. Realistically speaking however, the number of stretch marks you get depends on how elastic your skin is. The elasticity of your skin usually relates to your genetic make up. The best thing you can do is find out if your mother got bad stretch marks during pregnancy. If she did, you are probably more prone to stretch marks than other women.

Keep in mind the more weight you gain during pregnancy the more likely you are to have stretch marks. Normally the skin is elastic and capable of stretching quite a bit, however for some women the changes that occur during pregnancy are very drastic. These rapid fluctuations of weight and skin stretching can result in stretch marks.

Women with multiples are more likely to get stretch marks because their bellies usually grow much larger than women with single pregnancies. Other women likely to develop stretch marks include women who gain a lot of weight quickly during their pregnancy and women who carry big babies.

Here are some other factors that may contribute to your susceptibility to stretch marks:

* If you developed stretch marks before (like on your breasts during puberty) you are more likely to get stretch marks while pregnant.

* If you had stretch marks during another pregnancy you will usually get them again.

* If you are overweight or gain more weight than recommended you are more likely to get stretch marks.

* The better hydrated and well nourished you are the less likely you are to develop serious stretch marks.

Stretch Mark Prevention

Most women believe that they can prevent stretch marks by using creams and lotions. There are many formulations on the market today that claim to help prevent stretch marks. Some of these may help moisturize your skin and reduce itching. They may help reduce some stretch marks however there are no scientific studies that support this.

You probably know at least one parent however that swears by cocoa butter or some other formulation to prevent stretch marks. If nothing else rubbing these creams into your belly provides your unborn baby with a light and comforting massage. They may also give you peace of mind knowing you did everything possible to prevent stretch marks.

The best thing you can do to minimize stretch marks aside from using any creams or moisturizers you select is gaining the recommended amount of weight during pregnancy. Doctors recommend most women gain between 25 and 34 pounds. Gaining much more than this can cause you to develop more stretch marks.

Removing Stretch Marks

Most women worry about stretch marks after they have their baby. Fortunately most stretch marks do fade with time. Usually after 12 moths postpartum most stretch marks are light and less noticeable. Their texture may remain different from the surrounding skin however. Many women notice their stretch marks fading into whitish lines that are minimally noticeable.

Some women have very severe stretch marks that impact their self esteem after pregnancy. There are many treatments available for women that want to improve the appearance of their stretch marks.

If your stretch marks are particularly bad, you may consult with your doctor or a dermatologist. Some topical treatments such as tretinoin cream can help reduce stretch marks. These creams must be used after pregnancy however, because they can cause defects in your unborn baby.

Most of the topical treatments available should be used shortly after delivery, before they start to fade. The more time that passes between the delivery and use of cream, the less likely they are to be effective.

If you are breastfeeding it is important you consult with your doctor before using any stretch mark treatments. Some treatments may impact your milk supply or pass through the breast milk to your baby.

Most of the creams available to reduce stretch marks do not help relieve the sagging skin that also accompanies childbirth. There are some newer treatments including laser treatments however that may improve the skins elasticity and help reduce stretch marks. Some women also consider plastic surgery after they are done having children. A tummy tuck can help hide some stretch marks and reduce sagging skin.

Most women are able to joyfully overlook stretch marks when they consider the miracle of life they bring into the world. For the most the small annoyance even the worst stretch marks bring are well worth the joys of bringing a newborn baby into the world. Many women wear them with pride, a ‘war wound’ or “badge of honor” related to their pregnancy. Why not wear them with pride?
